Recreation Supervisor

Recreation District #1's/ Pelican Park Recreation Division is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Recreation Supervisor position. Recreation Supervisors together are responsible for all aspects of the recreation division to include youth sports, adult sports, leisure programming, nature programming, disc golf course, commercial batting cages, skate park, 2 dog parks, coaches background checks, advisory boards, supervision and trainging of part time staff, daily activity book, official's liaison, contract and bidding work, on-line registration, sand volleyball courts, tournaments for the District, facility rentals, liaison to soccer club, special events and much more.

Minimum skills and abilities required include a preference for NRPA certification, preference for a degree in Recreation and Park Administration or related field witha  minimum of 2-3 years experience, high school education with extensive work history with people and organizations, ability to communicate well with people, knowledge of leisure activities, knowledge of sports and knowledge of special events, among others.

The Recreation District offers an excellent benefits package to include holidays, vacation and sick leave. The District provides health insurance for the employee, dental insurance and life insurance. Additional coverages and AFLAC can be purchased by the employee. Employees are part of the State's PERS retirement plan and do not participate in Social Security. The salary is based on a 10 step system, with step 1 being $37,064.92 to step 10 $51,339.00.
