The Louisiana Recreation and Park Association (LRPA) is a membership organization dedicated to improving recreation and park facilities, programs, and personnel. Park and recreation employees in every setting are encouraged to take an active role in assisting the Louisiana Recreation and Park Association in accomplishing these goals.
The list of services available to LRPA members is extensive. As a member you will receive the e-newsletters that keep you informed of recreation and park activities, events, and professional interest items. You may also participate, at a discounted rate, in LRPA's annual conference and professional training institutes, district workshops and local government seminars.
Your LRPA membership will effectively demonstrate your sincere desire to promote Louisiana's recreation and park professionals, facilities, and programs. It will assist in the maintenance of high professional standards throughout the state.
Your membership will also provide opportunities for involvement and development of special interest areas such as tourism, legislation, student leadership, therapeutic recreation, recreation programming, programming for active seniors, youth sports, and coach training and many more.
As members, your agency is encouraged to host future state meetings, making your agency a part of your community's economic development.
The largest LRPA membership benefit is the opportunity for you to network with other park and recreation officials and corporate suppliers to seek solutions to many challenges our profession faces.
Through member-alert e-mails and the web site, you have learn about grant and special programming opportunities, such as programs offered by the National Alliance for Youth Sports and the Hershey Youth Program.
